Edith Paal, MSJourn, MPH, CIP, CHRC, has worked in human research protections at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) since 2003. After nine years as a research compliance auditor/auditing manager, she joined the UAMS Institutional Review Board in 2012, becoming its director in 2019. Ms. Paal earned her bachelor's degree from Stanford University and master's degrees from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University and the UAMS College of Public Health.
