Dr. Sohail Khan Bio-sketch- I have worked closely with the Cherokee population as a Medical Epidemiologist/Bio-statistician and later as the Director of Health Research for more than twenty-nine years and Cherokee Nation IRB’s administrator for the past twenty-five years and Chair for the last 15 years. I have also served as the Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator on several projects. For over a decade, I have participated in dialogue at national and regional meetings to educate communities of interest about the sovereign rights of Cherokee/Indian people to own their data as they contribute to discoveries and scientific advancements. Recently, I have served as a member of NIDA’s American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) Collaborative Research Engagement Working Group (CREW) and the RADx-UP Data Stewardship Committee and a member of the Steering Committee member of the RADx-UP program. Furthermore, I have the privilege of serving as a NIA’s National Advisory Council member for the next four years.
