National Institute of Mental Health, Intramural Research Program
Susanna Sung, LCSW-C is the Director of the Marketing and Community Relations Unit in the National Institute of Mental Health’s Intramural Research Program in Bethesda, Maryland. She oversees the recruitment of participants in over 50 clinical research studies at any given time.
She earned her Bachelor’s degree in both communications and psychology from Syracuse University, and her Master of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania. Her clinical and research work through the years has included substance use disorders and mood and anxiety disorders in both community and research settings. She also works on policy and program issues, and is a course instructor and keynote speaker on local and national levels. She is committed to the social work values of empowering individuals and communities to have the agency and resources to achieve their goals, and to the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion in creating authentic and trusting relationships.
