Anne Maglia serves as the Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. She oversees the university’s research enterprise, including sponsored research administration and development, research integrity, core research facilities, technology transfer, and industry partnerships and economic development. Maglia served for six years at the U.S. National Science Foundation as a science advisor, program director, and animal welfare officer. Prior to that she was an associate professor of biological sciences at Missouri University of Science and Technology where her research focused on bioinformatics and biodiversity. She serves on several advisory boards including the National Academy of Science, Engineering, and Medicine’s Institute for Laboratory Animal Research Council and the National Organization of Research Development Professionals. She received a B.S. in zoology from Ohio University, an M.S. in biology from East Tennessee State University, and a Ph.D. in ecology and evolutionary biology from the University of Kansas. She is a certified project management professional and earned MS certificates in both program and project management from the George Washington University School of Business.
