Alicia Edelman Pelton leads the Research Ethics Program and Responsible AI compliance for the Technology and Research division at Microsoft. Throughout her more than 20 years at Microsoft, she has been a collaborative leader with a constant push to improve products and processes. At Microsoft Research, Alicia fell in love with partnering with researchers to deliver their cutting-edge research work to the world. She was able to work on early real-time translation, data visualization, economics, video streaming and AI language systems. Now, as the leader of Research Ethics and Responsible AI for Technology and Research, she continues to enable researchers and engineers to innovate supported by a program that helps them proactively think through the personal and societal impacts of their work in addition to the academic and business implications.
