As the RECM, she manages DHS’s Human Research Protections (HRP) Program which includes developing and harmonizing Departmental policy, education and training, auditing and monitoring, and risk management. She started her career at Howard University (HU) as a bench scientist in a microbiology/virology lab housed within the Center for Sickle Cell Disease studying the transcription factors of HIV. After HU, she worked as a human research protections consultant for the Army, National Institute of Mental Health, and DHS. She has been with CAPO since 2018 and became the federal lead for the HRP portfolio in October 2020.
