Mrs. Bass currently serves as the Deputy Director of the Office of Public Health Ethics and Regulations in the Office of Science at CDC. She has been with CDC as a Health Scientist since 1999 where she has served as the Senior Human Studies Advisor for various Centers in the Agency, providing leadership and staff with expert guidance on scientific matters including human research, public health ethics, and confidentiality. She has served on CDC’s Institutional Review Boards (IRB) as a vice-chair and was a Certified IRB Professional (CIP) from 2012-2018. Micah has done various trainings for CDC staff and grantees since 2003. She received her bachelor of science in psychology from Florida State University and her MPH in behavioral sciences from Emory University.
