Jennie Lofgren, DVM, MS, DACLAM, is the Global Head of Animal Welfare with the Novartis Institutes for Biomedical Research. Her previous role was as Clinical Assistant Professor and the Associate Attending Veterinarian of Practice Standards and Enrichment at the University of Michigan Medical School. Dr. Lofgren has conducted research and published in the areas of refinement, analgesia social housing and enrichment. She received her veterinary and masters of comparative biomedical science degrees from Tufts University, completed a post-doctoral fellowship in comparative medicine at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a visiting research fellowship with the Pain and Animal Welfare Science Group at Newcastle University.
