Candi is a member of Huron’s IRB Services team. In this role, she helps universities and healthcare organizations with the administration of their human research protections program (HRPP). Candi is skilled in conducting quality assurance and improvement efforts for human and animal research programs and is experienced in electronic research administration system design and implementation. Candi has successfully improved and streamlined research compliance office operations at academic research institutions, academic medical centers, and cancer centers. She has also supported animal care and use program accreditation efforts and aligned human research programs with accreditation standards and best practices.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE Prior to joining Huron’s Higher Education Practice, Candi was the Quality Assurance and Audit Coordinator in the Office of Research Integrity at the University of Colorado at Boulder. In this position, Candi was responsible for ensuring that the Institutional Care and Use Committee and the Institutional Review Board adhered to federal, state, and local requirements while also maintaining accreditation standards and achieving operational efficiency. Prior to UC, Candi was an IRB Coordinator at Oregon State University, where she focused on protocol review, streamlining IRB operations, and staff development.
