Vice President and Chief Regulatory Officer, Baylor Scott & White Research Institute
Elizabeth has been a member of the leadership team for Baylor Scott & White Research Institute since April of 2002, first as the Director of the Office of Research Subject Protection, then as the Corporate Director of Research Regulatory Affairs and has been the Vice President and Chief Regulatory Officer since 2015. In her current role she is responsible for leadership, supervision and administrative support to the Baylor Scott & White Health (BSWH) Regulatory Affairs and Research Administration, including Research Subject Protections (including the IRB and IBC), Quality and Regulatory Support, Sponsored Programs and Facilities Management. Additionally she oversees the preclinical research areas including all bench research programs as well as the core laboratories that support preclinical and clinical programs.
She currently serves as Co-Chair of the Research Conflict of Interest Committee, a voting member of the Institutional Compliance Committee and the System COI Committee. Elizabeth serves as the Entity Compliance Liaison for BSWRI. Elizabeth has worked for thirty years in the field of research subject protections and research compliance, including working for two health care systems, a major university and a national accreditation agency. She was a site visitor for AAHRPP and/or a member/officer of the Board of Directors for AAHRPP for more than six years. She has a BA in Commuications/Journalism/Business and a MS in Management/Human Resources and is Certified as an IRB Professional (CIP) and in Health Care Privacy Compliance (CHPC) and in Health Care Research Compliance (CHRC).
