Christina Aguilar, CPIA is the Assistant Director, IACUC at the University of North Texas Health Science Center (HSC) in Fort Worth, TX. She began her career in the field of laboratory animal science in 2002, while attending business school to become an accountant. In hopes to gain experience in accounting, she accepted a position purchasing and receiving animals for the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. She quickly obtained preference to compliance over accounting. Upon receiving her degree in business administration, she accepted a position in the IACUC Office. Ms. Aguilar has also had the privilege of being the IACUC Coordinator at the University of Houston and the University of Houston Clear Lake. In 2016, she became the IACUC Administrator at HSC, and received her CPIA credential in 2017. Christina enjoys working with investigative and animal care staff in building a culture of compliance.
