Cecile González-Cerimele is a Senior Director in Diversity & Inclusion in Clinical Trials and is a native of San Juan, Puerto Rico. Following her love of science with the goal of improving inclusion, diversity and access, she has spent over three decades in the pharmaceutical industry in roles spanning from discovery research to late phase drug development. She has led teams with multi-million-dollar programs, new portfolio entrants, as well as the Covid antibody program. In her most recent role, her focus is on developing strategies for increasing awareness, education, and accessibility of clinical trials to underrepresented patient populations in the U.S. and globally. As a patient advocate, she incorporates personal experiences to ensure patient perspectives are considered from design through the implementation of clinical trials.
Cecile has held numerous board positions, including Healthcare Business Women's Association (HBA), as Director at Large of Membership, and Organization of Latinos at Lilly (OLA), an Eli Lilly & Company employee resource group, where during her tenure she has established multiple national and local strategic Hispanic partnerships to identify, recruit and create a pipeline of Latino talents for Eli Lilly & Company and was awarded the 2018 OLA Leadership Award. In 2023 she received the Latino Leadership Award from Profiles in Diversity Journal.
Cecile is a is a graduate of Indiana University Bloomington with a degree in Chemistry, and holds certifications in Critical Chain, Clinical Project Management, Six Sigma Blackbelt and Project Management Professional. Through external speaker engagements, she shares her culture, her passion for science and experiences as a professional Latina.
