Miranda R. Waggoner, PhD, is Associate Professor of Sociology at Rice University, where she is also affiliated with the Science and Technology Studies Program and the Center for the Study of Women, Gender, and Sexuality. Her research explores the social, ethical, and cultural dimensions of biomedical knowledge production, and her work aims to broaden and inform conversations in bioethics and health policy, especially in the areas of reproduction and women’s health. Waggoner’s work has been supported by the Greenwall Foundation Faculty Scholars Program, and she is also the recipient of a CAREER Award from the National Science Foundation.
