Monique Tadeo, MS, CIP is EPA’s Human Subject Research Review Official (HSRRO) and Director, Program in Human Research Ethics and Oversight (PHREO). She oversees the review and approval of human subject research, provides oversight of relevant policies, practices, and regulations, and provides strategic vision and leadership for EPA on human subject’s research. Monique oversees the PHREO and chairs the Human Research Ethics Council (HREC), a cross-agency committee of EPA staff charged with promoting consensus on Agency policies and procedures for research involving human subjects. Monique works closely with the network of Human Subjects Officers located across EPA’s programs and regions.
Monique is a subject matter expert and senior compliance professional for human subject research regulations. She has developed solutions for complex regulatory issues, and compliant human subject research protections processes for industry, both commercial and university Institutional Review Boards (IRB), and government agencies. Monique holds a professional certification as a Certified IRB Professional since 2007.
Monique holds a Master of Science from The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland College Park.
