Office of Research Integrity, University of Kentucky
Lexington, KY
Pam Stafford has most recently worked for the Office of Research Integrity (ORI) at the University of Kentucky since 2017 where she currently serves as the Director Associate, Sr. As part of that responsibility, she manages the Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement efforts for the ORI at UK.
Pam obtained an M.A. in General Psychology from Murray State University in 2008 and has worked in multiple research-related capacities over the past 17 years including protocol regulatory maintenance; SBER IRB Administrator; Assistant Director of Research and Evaluation for a substance abuse prevention and education company; serving as a non-affiliated Social Scientist SBER IRB member; and serving as an AAHRPP site visitor. In addition to having worked with human subjects research from all sides of the submission and review process, Pam has also enrolled as a research participant on a few studies over the years.
One of the most rewarding parts of working in the ORI at the University of Kentucky for Pam is the ability to provide assistance and consultation to newer researchers (especially students) who may be struggling to find appropriate guidance. Like many who work in this field, Pam has noticed that new researchers sometimes find the protocol submission and review process to be overwhelming, but they often express gratitude and relief when someone is able to take the time to meet with them, help them work through things, and answer their questions.
