Boston Children's Hospital
Boston, MA
Matt Mellini is the IACUC Manager for Boston Children's Hospital in Massachusetts. The program at BCH is comprised of a robust fish program, as well as rodents, and large animals, such as ovine and swine. In total, there are approximately 400 protocols covering these species. Matt is responsible for the day-to-day operations, any reporting to governing agencies, and with leading full committee meetings each month. In addition to the day-to-day tasks, Matt manages a team of three full-time employees, all of whom have varying responsibilities within the IACUC office.
Outside of the world of noncompliance, Matt shares a great appreciation for animals. If not seen volunteering at one of the local animal rescue agencies, Matt can be found tending to his tropical fish tanks, or hanging out with once a stray, but now very much an indoor cat, Violet.
