At MeRTEC, we provide training, technical assistance, and support for compliance, workforce development, and ethical decision-making. We are committed to strengthening regulatory compliance and ethics training in order to develop a competent workforce educated in, and ready to practice, ethical standards in business and research in an increasingly complex world. Regulatory compliance affects wide ranging fields, including health and social services, education, business, energy, the environment, and more. Today's compliance requirements are an inescapable feature of every sector, so to mitigate risk in areas like liability, or unethical practices, we offer training on the fundamental elements of how to build a culture of compliance and ethical behavior. The Maine Regulatory Training and Ethics Center (MeRTEC) is an educational partnership between the University of Southern Maine, University of Maine Law School, businesses, and community partners.
