Health and Safety Policy
Page last updated on March 31, 2023. Please check back as information is subject to change.
Travelling to and attending a large gathering or event includes the possibility of being exposed to COVID-19. This page outlines PRIM&R's Health and Safety Policy for this event. At this time, we are not requiring vaccination to attend this meeting. Please bookmark this page and check back regularly for updates. PRIM&R reserves the right to change this policy if warranted.
Before You Travel to Washington, DC
- Complete a health self-assessment. If you are sick, please stay at home.
- We strongly recommend that all attendees take a rapid antigen test before traveling to these conferences. PRIM&R is not supplying on-site testing.
- Check your flight and travel arrangements. Ensure you’ve checked the requirements of your airline and the destinations from which you will be travelling.
- Pack a mask. To date, masks will be optional for those in attendance, but this may change depending on what is happening at the time of the meetings, as well as with federal, local, and CDC health guidance. If we feel it is the best interest of our attendees and team to be masked on-site, we will ask that everyone be masked during the event.
At the Conferences
- Wear a mask if needed/requested. To date, masks are optional for those in attendance, but this may change depending on what is happening at the time of the meetings, as well as with federal, local, and CDC health guidance. If we feel it is the best interest of our attendees and team to be masked on-site, we will ask that everyone be masked during the event.
- Enhanced cleaning. In accordance with VenueShield, GBAC Accreditation, and local Health Agency regulations, the Walter E. Washington Convention Center has developed a stringent cleaning and disinfection program. More information on cleaning practices can be found on this webpage.
- Comply with all health and safety guidelines posted by PRIM&R, the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, and/or the local department of health.
- If you feel unwell while you’re at the conference, we recommend you leave the meeting space and evaluate if you need to test for COVID-19. If you feel your symptoms are severe, we recommend visiting a local urgent care facility or a hospital if an emergency. A list of these facilities will be available at the Help Desk. The CDC recommends that anyone feeling unwell wear a mask if they cannot isolate completely while sick.
- If you determine you’ve been exposed to COVID-19 while at the conference, follow CDC’s guidance for COVID-19 exposure.
- If you test positive for COVID-19 during the conference, follow CDC’s guidance for testing positive for COVID-19, and email registration@primr.org to let us know you’ve tested positive. Make arrangements to stay isolated. If you need assistance, contact registration@primr.org and our meeting planner will be in contact with you.
