Accessibility Requests
PRIMR23/SBER23 will take place at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, a large meeting venue that is ADA compliant. Information on accessibility at the Convention Center can be found on this
webpage, and more information on accessibility in/around Washington, DC can be found on this
webpage.
See information below on accessibility requests/services PRIM&R can work with you on accommodating. If you need a service beyond what is listed,
contact us at your earliest convenience.
Registration
PRIM&R uses an online system for registration, but a fillable PDF form can be provided upon request. If you need assistance with completing registration,
contact us.
Mobility Requests
The meeting space at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center is situated on three floors and in two connected buildings. Escalators and elevators are available and the
floorplans can be found on this web page (we are using Exhibit Halls D and E, 100 rooms, 200 rooms, and the Ballrooms). For those needing additional assistance in the form of a wheelchair or motorized wheelchair,
view the DC/WEWCC Business Center flyer for information on how to make reservations. Once you’ve made a reservation,
contact us so we can confirm delivery times with the Business Center.
The
conference hotels are a
five to 10-minute walk to the Convention Center and,
we are not providing transportation to/from the hotels and Convention Center. The hotels closest to the Convention Center are the Marriott Marquis Washington DC (connected to the Convention Center via underground walkway), Residence Inn by Marriott Washington Downtown/Convention Center, and the Courtyard by Marriott Washington Downtown/Convention Center. You may also
contact us to discuss transportation options.
Hard of Hearing Requests
For those requiring hard of hearing services during the in-person conference, note your preferred service (e.g., assisted listening devices, ASL, CART services, etc.) during registration and we will do our best to accommodate your request. While we will do our best to make any last-minute arrangements,
please register and submit your needs by October 27, 2023. All content streamed during the virtual meeting, as well as any recorded/on-demand content, will feature closed captioning. Please note we use AI closed captioning for our meetings.
Blind/Legally Blind/Low Vision/Limited Vision Requests
For those requiring blind/legally blind/low vision/limited vision services during the in-person conference, note your preferred service during registration and we will do our best to accommodate your request. While we will do our best to make any last-minute arrangements,
please register and submit your needs by October 27, 2023.
Service Animals
Service animals are allowed at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center; no advance notice is required.
Lactation Room
The Walter E. Washington Convention Center has
Mamava Pods–located at the 103AB Concourse, L Street North behind the rainbow spiral stairway. Please note the Mamava Pods
do not include a refrigerator. If you will require refrigeration on-site at the Convention Center,
contact us.
Dietary Restrictions
PRIM&R is serving lunch only during PRIMR23/SBER23, along with breaks that include hot/cold assorted beverages and snacks, and receptions that include assorted beverages (including alcohol) and appetizers. Every attempt will be made to provide food options that are vegan and gluten, dairy, egg, pork, fish, shellfish, and nut-free.
If you require a custom meal related to a religious observance and/or or have a dietary restriction outside what’s been noted and that is medically necessary, please indicate this during registration. We will communicate with those requesting custom meals in advance of the meeting.
